“The next fruit is the Fruit of the Spirit Kindness! But what does kindness mean? What does it look like to be kind to someone?”

“I think we should be kindness superheroes this week. What do you think? Are you ready for some kindness adventures?”

Read a Bible Story (Fruit of the Spirit Kindness)

Let’s turn this Bible story into a full blown lesson!

Open your Beginner’s Bible to page 379 (the story of The Good Samaritan). If you don’t have this Bible, you can read it from this link Luke 10:25-37, or use another Bible.

Before reading the story, look at the pictures with your child and encourage them to make predictions: “What do you think this story is about? How do you think this story relates to the Fruit of the Spirit Kindness?”

Then read it, and ask your child predictive questions throughout: “What do you think will happen next? If they do that, what might happen? What would you do?

Relate it back to the Fruit of the Spirit Kindness: “This story is about a kind man who helped someone in trouble. We call him the Good Samaritan.”

“Just like in this story, we are like little helpers. So, if we see a friend who needs help or feels sad, Jesus wants us to be like the Good Samaritan and lend a helping hand. We can share our toys, give comforting hugs, or say kind words to make them feel better.”

“Just like the Good Samaritan showed kindness to someone who needed it, we can show kindness to our friends and family with the help of the Fruit of the Spirit Kindness.”
